Start with the status shown by the software. Preserve the evidence.
Safe first checks for common operator issues. Do not bypass guards or alter PLC, calibration or licence settings to clear an error.

If the machine has moved unexpectedly, an emergency stop is active, guarding is compromised or hardware appears damaged, stop and follow the site's machine-safety procedure before software troubleshooting.
STM connection remains offline
Confirm the commissioned COM port in Machine Settings, check that no other application owns the port, and verify the machine controller is powered. Do not change serial parameters or controller identity without service guidance.
The recipe is not ready to run
Review the motion and evaluation fields, send the recipe to STM and wait for verified readback. A mode, envelope or readback guard should be resolved, not bypassed.
Test displacement shows NOT SET
Automatic test displacement begins only after the eligible preload datum has been confirmed. Machine Z remains visible as the absolute coordinate. Recheck the preload workflow and do not substitute Machine Z as displacement.
A test was interrupted
Keep the interruption status with the trace. Review machine state and the raw trace, then prepare a new approved test. An incomplete repetition set should not be certified.
The camera is unavailable
Camera authorization and connection are independent of PLC acquisition. Testing can continue without visual evidence where the approved procedure permits it. Use Camera Setup or contact service; do not copy authorization from another machine.
A report cannot be created
Confirm a completed result or batch exists and review the report destination. Preserve the current result while resolving the issue. The operator manual describes Excel and PDF output paths.
Send the exact status, not a guess.
Include machine serial, software version, operating mode, visible status text and the step that preceded it. Share files only when requested through the approved service channel.
